Adventures in a day... And a half!!

What a fast weekend!! I had gotten this great idea of “getting” away. Mark has never been to the beach or seen the ocean, and so I thought going to San Diego would be so much fun. Please don’t get me wrong, we had a great time, but it was fast and hard! I don’t think I realized how hard it is traveling with Grant. Sleeping was the biggest chore and I’m pretty sure I came close to walking away, Grant hated sleeping in the hotel… Or Grandma Bingham’s… Or anywhere!
So we left Friday evening around 5. Grant did a great job traveling!! I was very proud of him!! We arrived in San Diego around 1 AM, and right away Grant was awake and NOT wanting to go back to bed. I fought with him for about 2 and half hours and I finally gave him his sippy and he went to sleep. I was finally able to go to sleep at 4:30ish. I can’t complain because Grant “slept” in until 7:30. We had breakfast at the hotel, and then we were off.
We decided to go to the San Diego Zoo. That place is massive!! Mark loved being there, and Grant actually watched the animals and enjoyed it for the most part. We walked so much, I can’t believe how tired I got from it!!

After lunch we drove back to the hotel, where I fought some more with Grant, and finally put him in the car so he would take a nap. I drove back after about 15 minutes and he slept!! We slept for about 2 hours, which was heaven for me! After we woke up, we headed to the beach. Mark seemed unimpressed, but I loved being there. Grant did NOT like the water. I think over all, I was the only one who wanted to be there.

So we left and had some dinner. We got back to the hotel room, where again I fought with Grant to go to sleep. Mark was out by 7:15 and Grant finally went down about 8. We then left Sunday morning to come back to Casa Grande. I really can’t complain. This trip was about being with my family. I enjoy being with Mark and Grant. And it was fun to be somewhere where Mark had never been. I can’t wait to go to Disneyland, but I will be sure to NOT plan it over just a weekend!!

Did someone order some relief??

Wow, what a busy few weeks… That or I’m just losing track of time. I must say that this past week I have felt relief from the “morning” sickness. It hasn’t completely gone away, BUT there are times when I don’t feel as crappy as others. Plus tonight I was able to get some of my house clean!!! This has been a daunting task for me. I now HATE washing dishes, the smell of the soap makes me want to gag, and cleaning any other part of the house means that Grant wants to play right there and mess it up like it was before. Grant was a good helper tonight, and I got quite a bit done!!
This past Sunday, the three of us dyed Easter eggs. We won't be home over Easter, and thought this would be fun!! Boy was it fun to watch Grant!!
Grant's 1st taste of a hard boiled egg...
Yeah NOT so much!!!
Angry Grant... This was right before he threw it!!!
We have got the cutest kid ever. Lately he has been really cuddly, and LOVES to kiss me (maybe he sees his dad give me kisses and he wants to be like his dad...) He is so fun. He now knows where his nose, ears, and belly button. He has really started loving on Mark too, and it just makes my heart swell!! I can't wait for them to go to the Father & Son camp out in May.

Mark has also been such a sweetheart. I don’t think we could have for seen how sick I was going to get. With Grant, I threw up one night, and never again. With this one, I have not thrown up, but every waking moment I’ve wanted too. Smells have sent me over the edge too!! I told Mark that I think our Heavenly Father knew that I needed to feel better with Grant, because I was going to have to endure so much. But with this one, our Heavenly Father knows that I need Mark’s support and help (I’ve been very independent up until now, and I’m slowly learning I can’t do it on my own). Mark has been GREAT!! I had my 1st Dr’s appointment 2 weeks ago, and left feeling like the biggest piece of poo! I don’t need someone telling me that I’m over weight, I already know that! I don’t need someone telling me they will only do X amount of c-sections… They don’t know me at all, I do what I want too! But Mark worried about me, and kept telling me that I wasn't this or that, and told me all the right things.
This past Thursday I had to work 12 hours. It was a long day, but I wanted to get home as fast as I could to Mark and Grant. By the time I got home Grant was already in bed, but Mark had put a little surprise together for me. It made me cry!! I married the MOST AWESOME guy ever. I love him to death!!
You have to love the bath tub surrounds!! It's a project in progress. And in case you can't tell, he did a candle lit bath, had music going, and made me a pina colada (AND FRESH FRUIT HMMM!!)
