Going Private

Yes, I've decided that I'm going to make my blog private. If you want to continue reading it, please send me your email address. I'm sorry Megan for the inconvenience, but for reasons you know, I'm making it private.

Thanks!

Cleaning

I was reading a parenting book a few months ago, and it said that if your child wants to help with house work, yard work, or whatever, to let them do it and then to not go back over it once they are done.

My little man has started to help me clean around the house... BUT I was surprised when he wanted to vacuum. I was a little hesitant, but I want him to help and I want him to learn to be better, so I let him. Both of us were so proud that he did it all by himself!!! MAN, I can't wait for him to load the dishes =)

Father & Sons Campout

Last night was the father and sons camp out for our ward. Grant was so excited to go with Daddy and Grandpa Maroney!!! As soon as Grandpa Maroney pulled up in his truck with a car seat, Grant was in heaven! He climbed in and found a bag of candy that "Grandma put together for me (Grant)", and he was sure she was thinking of him when she did it. Because I wasn't there, there wasn't a camera, so I was surprised when I got a picture text last night telling me goodnight!! All I know is that they had a good time, and Grant was very good. All he has talked about today is going camping again... I love that Grant has such an awesome Dad and Grandpa!

Summer's a Coming

This past week I bought Grant a $5 slip and slide. Today was the first day I let him on it. It was only 80 degree's, and it was still to cold for them. But it didn't stop them from at least playing a little on it.

I can wait for the hotter temps!! I love being able to have my door and windows open.

Peachy Keen

Last night I was looking through a recipe book Ruth had put together for me. In it she had put a few of her own journal entries. I skipped the recipes and just read the things she had put in there, and looked at the pictures. Ruth is a good mother, and I envy the time and patience she put into raising her kids (I know she is probably laughing right now). I realized something as I looked through it, if my kids had to go off of my blog, they would think everything was always peachy keen.

Please don't get me wrong, there are days when I have every ounce of patience needed to love and care for my kids... Then I have the other days. Where the ONLY thing that keeps me together and hanging on is throwing my tired, cranky, means kids into the car and going for LONG drives to get them (Grant) to sleep. I love them, I do. But raising them is no fairy tale, although, I know there will still be a happy ending. But at the end of my hard days, after daddy has come home and the kids are snuggled in their beds, way before 7.... I remind myself, everything is peachy keen.

Nursery TIME!

OK, she's not just nursery age, she's officially 18 months!! Cami is full of surprises these days, and she no doubt has one of the funniest, yet sassy personalities ever. She had her 18 month check up and she was just over 24 pounds, and I believe she was 38 inches (I can't remember). Cami is also ALL Maroney. She just reminds me of a mini Grandma Maroney. Here are just a few of Cami's newest things:
-She LOVES to talk... She mainly says, "here you go" "thank you" "mom" or "dad". However, she started to say "please" last night. She also will talk on the phone, which is so sweet!!
-Dancing. We can be in the car and I'll look in the back and she'll be trying to bust a move.
-Walks. She knows Grandma Maroney loves walks, and whenever we are there, she wants to go out on a walk. She'll even climb into our stroller at home. She is always ready.
-She officially has stopped sleeping through the night. 1 our of 5 nights, she'll make it through the whole thing... But she has stopped sleeping through the night!
-Jumping. I have her mattress on the ground right now, waiting for the rest to be done, and she loves to jump on it. She also just loves jumping on the ground.
-Attached. She is ATTACHED to her blankie and her thumb. When I wash her blanket, I have to hide it because she freaks out. Grant also knows that he can tease her with it.
-Nursery, as hard as I thought it would be on her, she had a great time and played the entire time! Makes it a little easier =)
-Cami is a really good helper! She will pick up toys or just clean around the house. I love it!!

I love this little girl!! She is so sweet and lovable. I can't wait to see how much change will happen in the next 6 months!! I love you Cami!!!

Two Heads are better than one!

Sorry the picture is a bit fuzzy. The other morning we got into the car and Grant had found the box of band aids that Grandma Maroney had given him for his post surgery fun... He had forgotten about them. But Cami and him made up for it, by plastering themselves in band aids. I should be concerned because they work so well together, and how creative they become together. It is just a mirror glimpse to what it will be like when they are little older. Oh how I love my little ones!!!
