The Garden of Eden, hee hee.

I was in bed most of the day on Friday, but I knew on Saturday that there were things that needed to get done.
Since we didn’t have Grant, now was the time to run around and do what we needed. Mark and I went into town and loaded his truck with a Roto Tiller. We also hit up the Home Depot for seeds. Mark’s mom and dad had given us 4 tomato plants, and we’ve wanted to do a garden for some time. Then out on a limb, on our way home, we stopped by the local animal feed store… Where we ordered 10 chickens!! They won’t be here until April 8th, but that gives us plenty of time to build a coop for them. We are very excited about it though.
Grant came home and was eager to help his dad plant the tomato plants. I love watching the two of them. Grant is really adjusting well to having a dad, and loves to help him (especially if there are cool tools involved!). We planted all 4 (whoopee) tomato plants, and then we planted pickling cucumbers, spinach, dill, and cilantro. We will also be planting peas, pumpkin, watermelon, and radishes.
This is turning into something we enjoy doing together!! I LOVE LIVING OUT IN THE ‘COUNTRY’! And I love that Mark is patient with me, and understands that I am new to this all.

Sickness Plagues the Maroney Clan!!

My little man is a HUGE trooper!! Last Monday when I picked Grant up from Grandma Maroney’s, he had a really bad runny nose. By the time we got home, feed and ready for bed, he was running a temperature over 100. It is extremely important to me that my family comes first, so when Grant woke up on Tuesday morning sicker than sick, I was eager to aide him back to health. Grant continued to be sick for all of Tuesday, so it was no surprise when I woke up with a blistering headache Wednesday morning. Mark’s mom took Grant for a few hours so that I could get caught up on rest. But Grant was still very sick himself. That night, Mark and I took him to urgent care where we learned he had an ear infection. My little trooper!! He never pulled at his ear or anything. He was cuddley and running a high fever, but he was never too much to handle, he toughed it out!!

The next morning, I knew I had to go back to work. I work for a hospital, and I felt like grade-A crap! So I called and made an appointment for myself in one of our clinics. There I was told to go home, that I had an upper respiratory infection!! Oh, and an ear infection myself!! I wanted to cry, because I was in a lot of pain. I am blessed that Mark is there for me. He helps support me mentally and emotionally. He did everything he could to take care of me. I love him so much!!
In case you are wondering how to keep an ill child happy, pull out a camera and start taking pictures!! He loved having the camera around :) I love my little man!!! He makes me happy, even when he is sick.

Happy St. Lucky's Day!!!

For the past couple of years, this time of year has always been strange for me. I look back, and it has never truly been that lucky for me. I will always fill this way on this week every year, but each year it gets less and less of an issue. To think that two years ago I was pregnant and facing some pretty hard decisions… Just two years ago! But I do have so many reasons to be thinking I am lucky (or rather blessed!)
Last night, I laid next to Mark, with him sleeping, and a few tears made its way to my eyes. How lucky am I to have such an awesome and caring husband? Let me list for you just some of the reasons I am completely and TOTALLY in love with this man!!
1. We sleep almost in the same exact position… not to mention we don’t like cuddling as we fall asleep!
2. We are so much alike, and yet have so many differences
3. He is so cute, and I love his little boy looks!!
4. He loves me regardless of anything, and he is quick to remind me
5. Fatherhood means more to him than just standing there
6. He has a genuine love and affection for Grant
7. He does drive a sexy truck, AND even lets me drive it, and tells me I look hot when I drive it… He tells me this any ways, but still…
8. He comes from a great family. He has great examples all around him, and it shows. He is a testament of his parents parenting. He’s a great man, thank you Ruth and Randy!
9. He changes stinky diapers (I sure could use him now though!)
10. Things never go left undone. If I ask if he can help with something, he does it! He is a great help to me!
11. Mark never, ever, EVER complains! But he allows me to rant and rave about anything and everything! He never complains that I complain too much!!
12. He is a great cook. AND he even cooks for me, when I let him!
13. He peels me grapefruit and lemons
14. Nothing to him is “his”, but rather “ours”
15. Since the time we have known each other, we have never fought. But he is still quick to say he’s sorry, even when he hasn’t done anything
16. He likes everything about me. My weight or body has never been an issue for him.
17. He wants a cow and chickens just as much as I do!
18. This baby is as exciting to him as it is to me. To him, we have been married 20 months (Grant is 19 months).
19. We have the same taste in music… mostly food (when I’m not pregnant) and we both LOVE salsa!!
20.He understands that I’d rather do other things than clean our house. My time with him and Grant is short, and he knows that. AND he helps with the house!!

Mark truly is amazing. My family really likes him, and that says everything to me! This St. Patrick’s day, I am really lucky, and I know that. I cannot wait to be married to him for all time and eternity! This is the first time in years that I haven’t been completely gloomy!! I LOVE YOU MARK MARONEY!!!

Life just started moving a little faster!!

I figure I had better update this or my cousin Alison will give me a hard time!! What would be a post without a picture of Grant?? This was take Friday March 6, 2009. We were on our way up to Casa Grande, and the only way he rides happy is if he is eating. I finally learned that suckers last longer than anything!! I am happy to announce that the sucker made it to Casa Grande!! He is such a joy in my life, and I love him to death!! He can now tell mommy and daddy where his nose is!!! It is so fun to watch him grow up.

On Saturday, Mark and I had an open house/reception with our families. It was great to have everyone around, while enjoying the sun. Just don't ask Bethany, Mark's sister, I guess the Sun and her don't get a long as well. Most of Mark's family was able to make it, and I am so blessed to have married into such a wonderful family!! His Aunt and Uncle came all the way from Virginia. Over all, I had a great time, and loved re meeting his family. Mark will be very surprised when he meets the Binghams'.... One side of my family makes up for both sides of his!!
Kim drove from Utah to come for one day! She left Friday afternoon and went home Sunday morning. She truly is the most awesomest chick! She made the cutest center pieces, and took the pressure off me!!! Yes, we are two foxy ladies. I am so glad that she is still part of my life!! I do promise there were other pictures taken, but not by my camera.
Well Mark and I have been getting adjusted to being married. I have no complaints. He is the sweetest man I have ever met... Out side of my dad that is :) He thinks of me and does everything he can to help!! I love him SO much, and that's why I am excited to announce...

I guess it doesn't get any clearer than this!! Mark and I (Grant was there for the news as well) found out on February 22, 2009, that we are expecting! ! We figure that we are due somewhere around November 2. We have a Dr's appointment set for the end of the month and we will find out for sure then!! But we're both extremely excited and can't wait. Although, I don't remember being the sick with Grant!! I'm only a month along, and already I'm sicker than a dog!!! It will be worth it, I know!!
